Micheal is the founder of Keefer HSE and is a well-recognised environmental professional. His  range of expertise includes environmental assessments and contaminated site solutions and reclamation.

 Keefer HSE Manager - Robert Lester
Robert Lester 

HSE Manager
Registered Energy Advisor

Robert is a hazardous materials consultant and our project manager covering the East Kootenay area. Robert is a hazardous materials building inspector (ASB-10002201) and a Registered Energy Advisor. He  is also currently in school for Occupational Health and Safety, working towards a Certified Registered Safety Technician designation. 

Robert has a background in bicycle mechanics. When he's not working you're likely to find him outside exploring the bike trails, camping, skiing and enjoying all the beautiful scenery our area has to offer.

Patrick DeFoe
Field Technician (West Kootenay)

Patrick is a field technician serving the West Kootenay. Patrick is certified as a Hazardous Materials Building Inspector (ASB - 10001990) and conducts a variety of sampling and monitoring for Keefer HSE.

After concluding his culinary career, Patrick followed his passion for the outdoors into environmental studies at Selkirk College where he completed the Integrated Environmental Planning program. This led him to the West Kootenay, where is often found playing hockey, skiing the slopes, or hiking with his dog.

Richard Hilton
President, Senior Industrial Hygienist 
CRSP, NCSO

Richard is a qualified Health, Safety and Environment professional. He has a strong track record of establishing and implementing outstanding Health and Safety programs for large, complex organisations who have multiple locations and numerous employees. His experience and knowledge base extends to fall protection, confined space and respirator equipment checks. Richard’s background also includes reducing exposure to hazardous materials at the workplace, hazard and risk assessment and writing exposure control plans. He enjoys teaching various courses including mobile equipment operations, fall protection, transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) and workplace hazardous materials information systems (WHMIS).

 

Richard holds three designations in safety; CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety professional), NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) and MSO (Manufacturing Safety Officer). 

 

When he isn’t passionately working to improve worker health and safety, Richard can be found outdoors enjoying various activities such as skiing, mountain biking, swimming and camping.

Hazmat Lab Manager in the Kootenays
Geoffrey Richards
Lab Manager 

Geoffrey is our Lab Manager and is NIOSH 582 equivalency-certified for air monitoring and training in Bulk Asbestos Analysis.

 

He comes from a head chef background, and has successfully led numerous teams in all areas of the kitchen. In his spare time, Geoffrey enjoys running, biking, skiing, sledding, and camping. He can often be found out and about exploring the local area.

Brennan Foreman
Field Technician (East Kootenay)

Brennan is our field technician based in the East Kootenay. He is a certified Hazardous Materials Building Inspector (ASB - 10003671) and conducts a variety of sampling and monitoring for Keefer HSE.

 

Brennan was born and raised in Kimberley, grew up playing hockey and now shares his passion for the sport with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he enjoys being active with trail running, hunting, golfing and spending time outdoors with his family.
